DWF is seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute Director to join our market-leading Finance Litigation team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex, high-value finance litigation and advisory matters across a wide range of actions, including motor finance and asset finance litigation, fraud and mis-selling claims. To include playing a key role managing a wider team.

Whilst the team operates as a nationally structured team supporting the wider DWF regional offices throughout the UK, this role is based in our Manchester office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities:
Where appropriate, lead and manage a caseload of complex finance litigation matters; otherwise act as the day-to-day lead on larger or more complex matters. Provide strategic legal advice to clients on risk management, including the detection, prevention, and recovery of fraud-related losses; and the strategic handling of mis-selling waves, systems, procedures, and PR risk. Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality delivery. Take ownership of day-to-day management and supervision of cases in the team and the client reporting requirements. Contribute to business development initiatives, including client pitches, thought leadership, and networking.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Essential

8+ years PQE with a strong background in finance litigation. Proven ability to manage large-scale actions. Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills. Excellent client relationship management and communication skills. A proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to mentoring and team development.

Desirable

It would be helpful, but it is not essential, to have experience in multi-jurisdictional disputes, High Court injunctions and commercial insolvency.
