Job Title: Director Global Patient Safety Process and Vendor Excellence

The core purpose of AstraZeneca Patient Safety is to add value to AstraZeneca products, provide clear science-based guidance for investigators and prescribers to safeguard patients as well as the success of our business. Patient Safety covers the entire clinical life cycle of a drug from first time into man to withdrawal of a product from the market.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do
As a Director Global Patient Safety Process and Vendor Excellence you will lead transformational change in the way we deliver local Patient Safety activities. This role will focus on innovation across all safety processes as we harmonize local safety activities across AstraZeneca and Alexion. You will work closely with Global Process Owners to ensure local and global alignment across all areas of Patient Safety being accountable for the implementation of a new model for the local handling of adverse events across all markets and across the AstraZeneca and Alexion portfolio. In this role you will be the key interface between the business and operational vendors in order to deliver operational excellence; and ensure that we can accommodate our growing pipeline whilst ensuring that we meet the needs of internal and external customers. Doing this means that you maintain a high degree of understanding and awareness of new Patient Safety trends and developments and uses these to improve local safety processes and to meet external regulations.

The role will also have accountability for the onboarding, performance and oversight of the new strategic vendor for adverse event handling.

Additional Accountabilities

Accountable for driving process innovation across all areas of local Patient Safety and the performance of the Global Patient Safety Process and Vendor Excellence Team.

Point of contact for Global Patient Safety and cross functional colleagues in relation to local safety processes.

Promotes and implements continuous improvement activities across all areas of Patient Safety to optimize productivity and quality.

Provide full support for audits and inspections concerning local safety activities/processes and monitor systems and reports to ensure both internal and regulatory requirements are met

Completes assigned training and maintains personal training records, dedicates time to self-development and works with manager to develop a dedicated personal development plan
accountable for the preparation and delivery of process training across all aspects of local Patient Safety

Regularly reviews customer feedback to help shape both tactical and strategic change to drive improvement in customer facing processes and experience

Essential Education, Skills and Experience Required

Science degree at Bachelor\'s level or equivalent healthcare professional qualification

Experience working in Patient Safety in an above-country role and/or with vendors

Maintains an up to date and expert knowledge of international patient safety regulations.

Maintains relationships with key external Patient Safety organizations

Substantial Patient Safety experience at a market level

Person with a CAN-DO attitude who brings in genuinely innovative ideas to the table and willing to effectively collaborate with local and global stakeholders to deliver business transformation\xe2\x80\x8b

Verbal and written English skills are mandatory

Desirable Education, Skills and Experience

Expert reputation within the business and industry

Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectations
