About The Role
Director of Adult Social Care Commissioning and Transformation
Manchester has always been a city of innovation, from the industrial revolution to today's leadership in culture, sport and creativity. That same ambition drives our approach to Adult Social Care. We've pioneered strengths-based practice, invested in digital solutions, reshaped the care market and strengthened partnerships to deliver better outcomes for residents.
We're now creating the role of Director of Commissioning and Transformation to take this journey further.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Strategic Director of Adult Social Services, you'll lead commissioning across the whole Adult Social Care portfolio, shaping a sustainable, high-quality market and driving transformation programmes that improve outcomes and manage demand. From homecare and care homes, to mental health, learning disability and autism, to working with the VCSE sector on prevention, your remit will be broad and impactful.
About the Candidate This is a role for a creative, collaborative leader who can balance vision with delivery. You'll bring the strategic skills to shape markets and influence partners, alongside the rigour to manage contracts, budgets and performance. You'll champion innovation, whether through new commissioning models, digital adoption, or empowering carers and communities in co-design.
We're looking for someone with senior leadership experience in commissioning and transformation who thrives in complex systems and can inspire confidence across boundaries.
This is your opportunity to help reimagine care in a city that's determined to set the pace nationally for inclusive, sustainable, high-quality services.
