The role

Architecture Director

Manchester or London



How you will contribute to transforming energy and shaping the future:



As our Architecture Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the technology strategy that underpins Britain's smart energy network. Reporting to the CTO, you'll lead the Architecture Practice and define the roadmap that drives innovation, resilience, and sustainability across our mission-critical systems. This is your opportunity to influence industry-wide transformation and help deliver the UK's Net Zero ambitions.



Key responsibilities:



Define and own architecture strategy and roadmap aligned to DCC's business and regulatory objectives.

Lead the Architecture Practice across solution, data, integration, and security disciplines.

Chair architecture governance forums and act as final design authority for strategic programmes.

Influence technology investment decisions to ensure alignment with sustainability and innovation goals.

Represent DCC at industry bodies, regulatory forums, and strategic supplier engagements.



Your skills that will enable us to fulfil our purpose:



Proven leadership in architecture within regulated, mission-critical environments.

Deep expertise in enterprise and solution architecture principles and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).

Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, security by design, and systems engineering.

Ability to manage architectural risk and ensure resilience, compliance, and continuity of service.

Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influence at executive and regulatory levels.
