At Imperial College London, we're not just maintaining buildings - we're enabling the future. Our Property Division is undergoing a bold transformation to support Imperial's 2030 ambitions, and we're looking for a visionary leader to join us at the heart of this journey.
For an initial 12-month period, as Director of Energy Transition, you'll play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership for Imperial's Carbon Net Zero strategy, energy and utility optimisation, biodiversity, and environmental performance. This will enhance our world-class estate -- a complex portfolio of 130 assets across 13 sites to support cutting-edge research, teaching, and innovation.

You'll be joining at a time of exciting change. Our new Centre of Expertise model empowers leaders like you to drive performance, innovation, and collaboration across the Division. You'll play a central role in ESG governance, performance tracking, and internal engagement to embed climate leadership into campus operations - all while supporting our journey to Net Zero by 2040.
What we are looking for
---------------------------
Proven senior leadership in sustainability and/or energy management within a complex, multi-site organisation
Expertise in the development and implementation of net zero, ESG strategies and capital programmes
Experience overseeing technical and engineering input into energy strategies, building services design, and infrastructure capital projects
Successful delivery of change and behaviour engagement campaigns
Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
Broad awareness of global sustainability trends, emerging technology, and data tools
Passion to stimulate and inspire others as reflected in property management leadership and influence beyond the department
What we can offer you
-------------------------
At Imperial, our values--respect, collaboration, excellence, integrity, and innovation--guide everything we do. You'll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team, working on projects that directly contribute to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
We are committed to creating an inclusive working environment and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We particularly encourage interest from individuals who are underrepresented in our workforce.
The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity.
Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days' annual leave and generous pension schemes).
Access to a range of workplace benefits including a flexible working policy from day one, generous family leave packages, on-site leisure facilities and cycle-to-work scheme.
