As the Director of English and Maths, you will lead on the strategic and operational management of English and Maths across the college. You'll oversee all aspects of curriculum planning, quality assurance, teaching and learning, and staff performance-ensuring our provision meets both student needs and national priorities.



Duties & Responsibilities



Lead and manage all English and Maths provision across diverse learner groups. Develop five-year strategic curriculum plans and oversee recruitment, progression, and performance KPIs. Ensure compliance with Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework. Embed a culture of continuous improvement through performance management and CPD. Collaborate with senior leaders, sector directors, and external partners to meet growth and quality targets. Represent the College at key external meetings and drive community and employer engagement.





Job Requirements:





Essential:



A degree and full teaching qualification. Significant curriculum management experience in English and Maths within Further Education. Proven track record of improving teaching standards and learner outcomes. Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills. Experience in performance management and strategic planning.


Desirable:



Relevant postgraduate qualification. Experience with Ofsted inspections. Experience working with external partners and sector boards.





The right candidate will have:



Relevant postgraduate qualification. Prior experience with Ofsted/ALI Inspections and partnerships with external stakeholders. Knowledge of leadership strategies with a track record of promoting College values and behaviours.
