Job Description

Stonyhurst College is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to assume the role of Director of Netball. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of the school's netball program across the entire school, including Stonyhurst College and St Mary's Prep School. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sports scholar program through netball, ensuring comprehensive access to the pathway. Collaboration with other Heads of Sports is vital to ensure parity for all students, and the role also involves organising and running UK, European, and long-haul netball tours. In addition, the candidate must also be able to contribute to the provision of one or more other sports such as hockey, cricket, tennis and athletics.

Key Responsibilities:



Netball Program Leadership



Create and develop a full and competitive fixture list for each sport that allows all students to be challenged and experience success.

Develop and execute a strategic plan to drive the netball program forward, fostering excellence, inclusivity, and sportsmanship.

Implement a comprehensive netball program across all levels of the school, ensuring alignment with the school's broader athletic objectives.

Assist the Director of Sport to identify, recruit, develop and deploy coaches and colleagues to assist in the running of the minor sports programme.

Book transport, catering and any other facility required to carry out the sporting fixture list.

Assist in the promotion of successes within the sports program, through appropriate mediums such as the school's social media accounts.

Sports Scholar Program Implementation



Oversee the implementation of the sports scholar program through netball, providing talented athletes with a clear pathway for development.

Ensure netball scholars have full access to the program, including personalised coaching, strength and conditioning, and mentorship.

Collaboration with Heads of Sports



Work collaboratively with other Heads of Sports to ensure parity and consistency in the provision of sports programs across the school.

Share best practices, resources, and coordinate scheduling to create a cohesive and supportive sports environment.

Tour organisation



Plan, organise, and lead UK, European, and long-haul netball tours, offering student-athletes valuable cultural and athletic experiences.

Manage logistics, budgets, and ensure compliance with school policies and regulations.

Coaching and multi-sport contribution



Deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions, ensuring students are engaged and motivated to participate in physical activity.

Contribute to the provision of other sports such as hockey, cricket, and football, providing expertise and support as needed.

Player Development



Identify and nurture talent within the netball program, implementing strategies to enhance skill development and foster a positive team culture.

Implement a player pathway that aligns with regional and national netball standards.

Additional Responsibilities



To play a full and active role in the development and delivery of netball camps, within the school's holiday camp structure.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 31,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 22 per week
