The DoS will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality English language curriculum, managing a team of EFL teachers, and ensuring academic excellence throughout the camp. This is a leadership role that requires strong organisational skills, academic expertise, and a passion for working with young learners in a multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the academic team, including EFL teachers, ensuring adherence to the curriculum and teaching standards.
Plan and oversee placement testing and student induction.
Monitor teaching quality through observations, feedback, and ongoing support.
Develop daily and weekly timetables to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
Manage academic administration including registers, student reports, and end-of-course certificates.
Provide teacher training sessions and ensure continued professional development during the camp.
Liaise closely with welfare and activity teams to support students' overall camp experience.
Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and academic policies are upheld at all times.
Prepare for and participate in inspections or audits by regulatory bodies.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications:
DELTA, DipTESOL or equivalent Level 7 TEFL qualification (preferred).
Minimum of CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL with significant teaching experience.
Educated to degree level.
At least 3 years' experience teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Prior experience in a DoS or senior academic management role, preferably in a summer school setting.
Experience managing academic timetables and leading a team of teachers.

Confident in delivering training and mentoring academic staff.
