Role description
JLL Property & Asset Management UK is responsible for the effective management and delivery of property services across a diverse 275 million sq ft portfolio consisting of 2,300 assets. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced sustainability professional to join our team as Director of Sustainable Operations. This role will focus on growing our sustainability services portfolio while maintaining excellent client relationships, driving strategic development initiatives to enhance our team's delivery capabilities and market positioning, and supporting the management of the sustainability team.
Your responsibilities as Director of Sustainable Operations will include
Develop and implement strategies to grow JLL's sustainability service offerings within Property and Asset Management
Develop compelling value propositions for sustainability services that differentiate JLL in the marketplace
Proactively contribute to various PAM Leadership Groups to enable the business to achieve its vision of transforming the sector and becoming the property manager of choice
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging sustainability trends and business opportunities
Create and present business strategies to JLL executive leadership and board
Lead pitch discussions and bid work for sustainability-focused opportunities
Contribute to sales forecasting and pipeline development for sustainability services
Developing scalable sustainability solutions that can be rolled out across multiple client portfolios
Develop pricing strategies for sustainability services that balance competitiveness with profitability
Conduct strategic client advisory sessions with executive leadership teams
Represent JLL at industry conferences, panels, and speaking engagements as a sustainability thought leader
Conduct strategic client advisory sessions with executive leadership teams
Develop account growth plans with sustainability at the core
Identify cross-selling opportunities for sustainability services across existing client portfolios
Act as sustainability subject matter expert in client presentations and meetings
Develop new sustainability service offerings based on market trends and client needs
Work with the PAM Procurement Team to embed ESG principles in all third-party supplier services
Create standardized sustainability service packages that can be customized for different client types
Establish implementation roadmaps for new sustainability service rollouts
Support the reporting of financial performance and strategic initiatives to Executive Committee
Understand and interpret client sustainability requirements and how this translates into future service lines
Role requirements and experience
Minimum 10 years' experience in managing and delivering sustainability related services in the built environment
A sustainability related qualification and a deep understanding of sustainability and social value issues relevant to real estate.
Proven track record in identifying, growing and building service lines specifically in sustainability delivery
Track record of developing and implementing sustainability roadmaps that generate both environmental and financial returns
Demonstrated ability to develop sustainability business cases and convert them into profitable service offerings
Strong technical background in sustainability practices, frameworks, and technologies relevant to real estate operations
Experience leading client-facing sustainability initiatives that have driven measurable business growth
Demonstrated success in converting sustainability expertise into commercial opportunities
Excellent relationship building and client management skills with sustainability as a differentiator
Experience in sustainability-focused business development including proposal writing and pitching
Excellent relationship building and client management skills
Experience of managing small teams and encouraging a positive work environment to deliver accurate, high quality, engaging and client ready outputs e.g. written and data reports
Excellent negotiation, communication and persuasion skills, with ability to co-ordinate projects that require input from large numbers of client, colleagues and supplier staff
Highly advanced information management skills, plus complementary use of face to face, telephone and email mediums of communication
A strong team player with the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people
