Job Description

The Director of Residential Real Estate Lending will oversee and manage lending activities within the residential property sector, ensuring compliance and driving strategic growth. This role requires expertise in financial services and a deep understanding of the residential real estate market in London.
We are seeking a commercially driven and experienced Director of Residential Real Estate Lending to lead the origination, structuring, and execution of residential property loans across the UK, with a focus on deal sizes between 1 million and 30 million. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong market relationships, deep credit expertise, and a hands-on approach to deal-making in the mid-market space.Key Responsibilities:
Origination & Market Coverage

• Source and originate residential development, bridging, and investment loans across the UK.
• Maintain and grow a network of brokers, developers, family offices, and other introducers.
• Identify underserved market segments and develop tailored lending solutions.

Credit & Structuring

• Lead credit analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessment for new transactions.
• Structure bespoke lending solutions, including senior, mezzanine, and stretch senior facilities.
• Prepare and present detailed investment papers to the credit committee.

Execution & Portfolio Management

• Manage the full transaction lifecycle from term sheet to drawdown.
• Oversee third-party due diligence (valuations, legal, QS, etc.).
• Monitor ongoing loan performance and proactively manage risks and borrower relationships.

Strategic Input

• Contribute to the fund's lending strategy and deployment targets.
• Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform pricing and risk appetite.
• Support the development of new lending products and underwriting frameworks.

Candidate Profile:
Experience:

• 8-12+ years in real estate lending, structured finance, or credit investing.
• Demonstrable track record of originating and executing residential loans in the 1m-30m range.
• Strong understanding of UK planning, development, and residential investment markets.

Skills & Attributes:

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong origination network.
• Excellent credit judgment and structuring capabilities.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field.
• CFA, ACA, MRICS, or similar qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
