RTI Health Solutions (RTI-HS), a business unit of RTI International, is an independent and internationally recognized research organization. We provide healthcare consulting and research expertise to optimize decision-making for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products across the development and marketing life cycle. Clients rely on our expertise, quality standards, and integrity to guide their product development and regulatory and market access strategies. Our service groupings include Value, Access, and HEOR; Patient-Centered and Outcomes Research; Epidemiology and Biostatistics; Medical Communications; Global Business Operations; and Strategic Consulting and Growth. RTI-HS has office locations in the US, UK, Spain, France, and Sweden.
To support our continued growth we are currently seeking a professional to join our Strategic Client Engagement, Business Development Team. You will provide excellent skills in client engagement and build and strengthen strategic relationships across RTI-HS and our clients.
This role is available at any of our office locations across the UK, Spain, France, Sweden. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely within these countries and other areas of Europe.



What You'll Do

The Director of Strategic Client Engagement will build and strengthen relationships with clients across global pharmaceutical and biotech organizations. The role focuses on enhancing awareness of RTI-HS services, particularly in Medical Affairs, including Clinical and Scientific Communication Strategy, Implementation Science, and Integrated Evidence

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Strategic Growth

Provide insights and guidance to position RTI-HS as a Trusted Strategic Partner, focusing on Medical Affairs while remaining adaptable to emerging strategic needs. Lead select, high-priority efforts to identify market opportunities and build strong relationships with new and existing clients tailoring solutions to align with their strategic goals. Engage consultatively with clients to integrate RTI-HS offerings into their workflows, working collaboratively with science leads, practice area experts, and the Business Development team. Support RTI account directors and marketing in selling enterprise-level, high-impact client solutions.

External Representation & Influence

Represent RTI-HS at conferences, industry events, and forums to elevate brand presence and showcase capabilities across Medical Affairs and adjacent domains. Build and sustain long-term relationships with institutional partners, expanding RTI-HS's visibility and influence globally.

Business Development & RFP Conversion

Drive awareness and adoption of RTI-HS services across Medical Affairs and related areas--including: + Health Economics
+ Real-World Evidence
+ Market Access

Identify and pursue strategic opportunities with pharma and biotech clients. Generate and convert RFPs into awarded projects, supporting internal teams throughout. Lead capability presentations and strategic engagement sessions for new and existing clients. Strengthen stakeholder relationships and maintain a proactive approach to client growth and retention.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree, preferably in health related or business management fields. 10+ years of progressive business development experience, with a proven track record of selling Real-World Evidence and Health Outcomes services, backed by expertise in the underlying science including Market Access, Health Economics, and Outcomes Research. Demonstrated success as a business development professional with in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology industry. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with members of the business development and technical teams in the best interest of the client and the company Demonstrated experience providing health outcomes services to pharmaceutical clients, either as a consultant or as an employee at a pharma company, is a strong plus. Demonstrated ability to drive in new requests for proposals and convert them to wins. Extensive relationships in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.


Preferred QualificationsExperience within Medical Affairs functions or services, ideally involving cross-functional collaboration and strategic solutioning. Business development experience within a consulting organisation serving pharmaceutical or biotech clients, with focus on healthcare strategy, evidence generation, or Medical Affairs services. Familiarity with Integrated Evidence Planning and/or Implementation Science, and their application in client-facing engagements. Existing network of senior-level pharma/biotech industry relationships beyond core accounts capable of opening new doors and deepening partnerships.
