Job Description


We are looking to recruit a senior programme manager and technology leader from a hands-on technical background to drive a portfolio of projects across the Post Trade business division including the transformation of our market leading SwapClear platform. We want an individual who brings technology expertise, business knowledge, management discipline and leadership presence to be part of the senior leadership team.

This role will involve bringing different business and technology teams together, frequent, and direct interaction with the Rates business leadership, to drive and implement the next generation of our platforms.

Key responsibilities of the role

  • Work in partnership with our business partners to define and execute the SwapClear Transformation Strategy to deliver best in class services to our clients through resilient, cost effective, controlled, and innovative technology.
  • Build and retain a world class technology team with strong engineering talent, diversity, and strong delivery culture.
  • Produce high quality programme plans and strategy communications for senior stakeholders up to Board level.
  • Work closely with the leadership within the Technology function, LCH Ltd, the wider Post Trade business and London Stock Exchange Group to establish key drivers and ensure that the technology is aligned closely to the goals of both the LCH Ltd business and the broader Group.
  • Deliver a new technology strategy that looks to work across the business lines to create a world class and efficient technology solution set to take our clearing businesses forward.
  • Work closely with business partners to drive the adoption of Agile best practices across the end-to-end change delivery value stream.
  • Continued enhancement to our front to back change prioritisation and delivery model.
  • Ensure production stability is maintained across the platform, making recommendations to maintain and enhance stability.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Attributes

Leadership and Stakeholder Management
  • Be an inspiring leader with strong communication, networking, relationship building skills.
  • A great presenter as the role will require the individual to update and guide both internal business stakeholders, regulators, and external industry boards.
  • Bring proven ability to lead and partner complex programme delivery across a global business.
  • Execute with gravitas \xe2\x80\x93 personal authority, confidence, and integrity to make a positive impact and provide counsel and advice at the various stakeholder levels across the organisation.
  • Demonstrate strong intellect, coupled with strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Be a strong team builder with demonstrable record of developing and nurturing talent.
  • Experience of leading process and procedural re-engineering and business enablement. High degree of focus on quality in addition to cost.
  • Ability to foster innovation and rapid application development to enable the business to move quicker on new ideas and initiatives whilst also ensuring the core operation runs safely and more efficiently.
  • Proven expertise and successful execution of simplifying a technology estate.
  • Ability to engage with very senior stakeholders including C-suite and external board.
  • Strong networking to stay abreast of industry trends/adoption incl. external vendor management, CDM, DLT & cloud.
Technical Requirements
  • A proven technologist from a hands-on IT background now leading teams ideally in a FX, Rates, Credit, Clearing area in Investment Banking or with equivalent Financial Services company (Hedge Fund, Asset Manager or FinTech).
  • Track record in leading and managing business critical technical platforms via both in house functions and third-party vendors.
  • Good knowledge of Murex would help the candidate though an ability to learn quickly and from experience of similar vendor or in-house platforms would be acceptable for the right candidate.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with running technology both on prem and in cloud. Knowledge of building/running applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Google Anthos, AWS would be desirable.
  • Proven experience of Agile SDLC methods and using this in large scale applications.
  • Strong experience of improving technology delivery and quality, driving standard tooling and automation
  • Strong technical innovation experience but within the model of working for a critical financial institution.
  • Good knowledge of Cyber Security methods and tooling
Business Requirements
  • A background within the financial markets is preferred, ideally with an in-depth understanding of pricing, trading, risk management and post trade technology across derivatives and other cleared products.
  • Entrepreneurial, core to the commercial success, not just a service provider to the business.
  • Understanding of systematic risk and complex calculations.
  • Ideally will have led a technology team within clearing or a closely related area.
  • Have an understanding of the regulatory landscape.
