Grade 6, 37,174 - 42,882 per annum pro rata

Applications are invited for a

Disability and Learning Development Tutor,

in

Student Support and Development.

As Disability and Learning Development Tutor, you will join a small dynamic team of disability and learning development professionals supporting the diverse needs of students across the Glasgow School of Art. You will work with individual students and applicants

,

supporting them to recognise and developing their skills, aptitudes and approaches to learning. You will act as first point of contact for our disabled students and will assess their needs and recommend reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010. Working with individuals and groups, you'll identify and assess students' learning related needs and determine how these needs can be effectively met in the learning and teaching context.This will include development of specialist study support interventions, delivering specialist learning development programmes for individuals and groups in addition to embedded academic study skills support.





Educated to degree level, you will have experience of supporting students' learning, conducting learning needs assessments and supporting student applications to the Disabled Students Allowance scheme. You will be familiar with a wide range of assistive technologies and experienced in training and supporting students to use them effectively. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, be able to communicate in writing to a professional standard and be fluent in the use of IT. The ability to manage a significant caseload based on priorities and deadlines is essential. As a qualified and experienced practitioner, you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of a specialist service, responsive to the needs of a diverse student community and mindful of its responsibilities within its organisational context.
