Location:

Divisional offices and Student Welfare and Support Services, Oxford (with hybrid working)

Salary:

Grade 8, 49,119-58,265 per annum (inclusive of Oxford University weighting)

Contract:

Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract for 3 Years (Applications for part-time and flexible working will be considered, with a minimum of 0.8 FTE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for four Disability Inclusion Officers to join us on a fixed term basis for three years to work on a collaborative project with Student Welfare and Support Services and the four academic divisions.

About the Role


These key new roles will deliver activity as part of a project to support the successful delivery of the University of Oxford's commitments under the 2025-2029 Access and Participation Plan (APP), specifically focusing on enhancing effective on-course support for disabled undergraduate students.

Each postholder will have a particular responsibility for one of the four academic divisions and will work in a matrix management structure. They will be line managed locally in their division and will work closely with each other as part of a project team and with central teams, with support and oversight from the Senior Project and Evaluation Manager (Disability Inclusion), based in Student Welfare and Support Services.

The postholders will:
Develop detailed knowledge of disability inclusion within their subject areas; Develop and support inclusive practices that will systematically anticipate disabled students' needs across a range of subject disciplinary contexts; Work in proactive partnership with academic divisions and their departments and faculties to offer expert advice, guidance, training and resources to staff that support the implementation of inclusive practices and reasonable adjustments; Develop, deliver and evaluate initiatives to address disability awarding rates, disseminating findings within and beyond Oxford; Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues working in education, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and student welfare across the collegiate University.

About You


Educated to degree level (or with equivalent experience), you will have a proven track record of developing and supporting inclusive practices, with specialist knowledge of disability inclusion and a sound understanding of higher education environments and the educational barriers faced by disabled students.

You will have excellent evaluation, research, and communication skills, and the ability to foster collaboration and build trust across a wide range of stakeholders, including senior academics and professional services staff. You'll be proactive, organised, and committed to driving meaningful, evidence-based improvements in disability inclusion and student success at Oxford.
