Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Rehab Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to a young lady with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will ensure their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with the client in her home setting, hydro rehab setting and out in the community. Our client has Cerebral Palsy and requires all oral dietary and medications to be administered via a PEG, she also requires support with washing and dressing. Whilst our client requires support with her personal needs she also has a busy social life that staff will help her access and take part in, activities such as - hydro therapy, shopping, cinema, walks, pub quiz's etc.

Duties


As a Disability Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration. Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Implementing care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences. Supporting clients with mobility in a wheelchair and moving and handling of the client with a hoist and other transfer aids. Supporting the client to access community based activities that she choses to engage in. Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Driving clients to appointments or social activities as necessary (must be a minimum of 25 years old to be added to her insurance). Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery, this will include hydrotherapy, chest physio and passive range of movement rehab. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.

Qualifications


To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

Experience in senior care, home care, or caregiving is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology and case management practices is beneficial. Previous experience in learning disabilities, complex healthcare conditions such as PEGs, epilepsy etc. A valid driving licence is essential for transporting clients when required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. A compassionate approach combined with patience and understanding towards individuals with disabilities. Shortlisted candidates will be send and required to complete a application form before their application can be processed further. Rotas are on a fixed two week basis, 36 hours per week can be offered on a zero hour contract. We look forward to hearing from you.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Temporary, Zero hours contract

Pay: 14.00-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
