About The SEN Village:
The SEN Village is a dedicated private Personal Assistant (PA) service specialising in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and autism. Role Overview:
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will work one-to-one or two-to-one with children who have a variety of SEN needs. The primary role involves accompanying children in the community and facilitating activities that promote their social, emotional, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised care and support to children with SEN and autism in line with their individual care plans.
Accompany children to community venues such as parks, sensory centres, zoos, libraries, and other recreational activities.
Plan and engage children in stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, communication, and social interaction.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times during activities and outings.
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective care.
Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents in line with company policies.
Follow safeguarding procedures and promote positive behaviour management strategies.
Attend training and supervision sessions as required to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
Person Specification:
Experience working with children with SEN, autism, or similar needs is essential.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety principles.
Flexibility to work during school holidays, weekends, and some evenings as required.
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance will be required (can be arranged through The SEN Village).
Mileage expenses for work-related travel will be reimbursed in line with company policy.
