Disaster Recovery Manager

A global business is currently recruiting a Disaster Recovery Manager to build the DR framework from scratch and lead continuity planning, testing and maintenance to ensure an appropriate level of resilience. Additionally, the chosen Disaster Recovery Manager will be manage/update all of the continuity plans, define IT resilience strategies and propose architecture designs to develop the DR road map. You must have strong capabilities in Azure as a back-up or DR solution with a proven infrastructure background to be considered.

This role is paying between \xc2\xa370,000 to \xc2\xa375,000 + 25% bonus + 5k on call with Hybrid working to be based in Central London on occasions.

This is an exciting position where you will be heavily involved in designing disaster recovery strategies, reviewing / development IT architecture (both cloud and on premise) and become the primary technical lead for Disaster recovery proactive management / support for a global corporation.

Core responsibilities:

  • Continuity planning, testing and maintenance to ensure an appropriate level of resilience and recovery capability is retained.
  • Management and updating of all IT continuity plans for business-critical processes.
  • Define IT resilience strategies based on the results of the business impact analysis and risk assessments.
  • Review and propose architecture designs and develop Disaster Recovery strategies based on the availability.
  • Identification and evaluation of risks that could impact in the availability of applications.
  • Develop and document Disaster Recovery Plans (detailed documentation of how to recover the application based on previous identified risks; escalation process).
  • Design and revision of IT architectures (cloud and on premise). Focusing on availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery possibilities.
  • Design, implement and exercise business continuity systems and processes; working with business stakeholders to identify and document critical business impacts, recovery plans and priorities of organisational readiness, ensuring recovery plans are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure IT systems are fully documented to audit changes and updates and to support business change and operations.
  • Supports and acts as back up for other technology towers covered by other members of the team (Azure, Security, Networks, etc)
Core technical skill set:
  • Strong understanding of business continuity and IT disaster recovery processes / methodologies (must have).
  • Ability to develop and implement disaster recovery plans, including backup and recovery strategies, data replication, and high availability configurations (must have).
  • Strong technical skills and demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery testing methodologies, including scenario testing and drill exercises.
  • Proven Experience of backup solutions such as Azure, Backup Exec, System Center DPM, Commvault/Metallic backup (must have).
  • Prior experience conducting risk assessment.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend new disaster recovery technologies and solution.
