Job Summary

The Dispatch Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods or services, and maintaining high standards of efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing a team, coordinating schedules, and liaising with other departments to optimize workflow.
Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate dispatch staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and performance standards. Scheduling & Coordination: Plan and manage dispatch schedules to meet customer requirements and operational targets. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all dispatch activities comply with health, safety, and legal regulations. Communication: Act as the main point of contact between drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams. Coordinate and schedule shipments for timely delivery using 3PL (third-party logistics) systems. Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate data entry into the SyteLine system. Communicate effectively with drivers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth operations. Monitor shipment progress and resolve any issues that may arise during transit. Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities to ensure compliance with company policies. Utilise phone etiquette to handle inquiries from customers and vendors professionally. Collaborate with the logistics team to analyse shipping data and improve operational efficiency.
Experience

Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics Leadership role is preferred. Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices. Proficient in data entry with attention to detail. Experience using SyteLine or similar logistics software is an advantage. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective collaboration. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
