About the Practice/Department/Team
The Stamford surgery:
We are a large practice caring for 27,000 patients.
The dispensary team is made up of 15 members of staff across both sites.
Job Introduction
We have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join our dispensary team. We are looking for someone with a passion for primary care and the drive to support our clinical service.
The post holder will ensure the provision of professional and efficient service to the patients of Lakeside Healthcare Stamford attending the Dispensary.
The post holder will process all orders as they arrive, liaise with patients attending the surgery dispensary and transfer the medication to patients at the desk as per the internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
The post-holder will, at all times, demonstrate a positive and friendly image to patients visiting the dispensary and all other visitors. They will deal with queries in a professional, courteous and efficient way.
What you will do
Issue all repeat medication requests for the Dispensary and the local Pharmacies on behalf of the patient
Action the online repeat prescription requests and using the dispensary task boxes appropriately
Sort the appliances for collection/delivery when they have arrived and sorting the relevant paperwork
Transfer the medication to the patients, at the window/counter as per the SOP
Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient
Essential Criteria:
Articulate - excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Confident telephone manner.
