We are seeking a qualified Dispenser or a Dispenser currently working towards an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Dispensing/Pharmacy Services to join our friendly and experienced dispensary team at our welcoming village surgery.
St Marys Surgery is a dispensing and training practice located near Bath. You will join a supportive team of two highly experienced dispensers and work within a wider team of social, kind, and caring professionals who are committed to delivering safe, high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
Dispense and issue repeat and acute prescriptions
Process medication requests (paper, electronic, and answerphone messages)
Manage daily drug orders, deliveries, and stock entry into the computer system
Maintain stock levels, rotation, and expiry date checks
Liaise with wholesalers regarding medication supply
Respond to patient queries in person and by phone
Prepare dosette boxes (if trained) and nursing home monthly medications
Assist with monthly surgery drug orders
Store and record controlled drugs (DDA) appropriately
Collect prescription charges and maintain accurate records, including controlled drugs register
Record and monitor fridge temperatures twice daily
Act promptly on drug alerts
Follow and uphold the practice's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Hand out prescriptions and dispensed items; take payments as needed
Ensure smooth handover of outstanding queries between shifts
Support clinical staff with medication-related requests during surgery hours
Keep dispensary documentation and filing up to date
Engage in training and professional development as required
Requirements
Qualified Dispenser or working towards NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing/Pharmacy Services
Reliable, flexible, and able to cover holidays or sickness when needed
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Only undertake tasks you have been trained to perform
