Colne Medical Centre is looking for a qualified dispenser to join our friendly but busy team working in our dispensary. Colne Medical Centre has two branches and this role will be based at the Alresford branch. The role is for 16-20 hours per week with the potential for additional hours in the future.
The post holder may, on occasion, be required to provide extra dispensary cover during holidays or sickness.
The role is dealing with all aspects of the dispensary including;
Issue of repeats - paper and EPS from online/email/ paper requests
Monitor of medication reviews
Deal with all patient enquiries and liaise with clinical team
Prepare and dispense medication
NHS script and non-NHS fees
Endorse prescriptions and preparing scripts for PPD submission
Order, accept deliveries and "check in" of stock
Cash up till
Follow/monitor/write SOP's (Standard operating Procedures) in line with good practice and DSQS (Dispensing Services Quality Scheme)
Manage patient complaints sensitively, directing them to the dispensary manager
Liaise with outside agencies and NEECCG representatives where appropriate

About the Candidate
To be considered for this role, the ideal person will be;
Qualified to NVQ level 2 in dispensing.
Able to deal sensitively with patients.
Basic IT skills.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work alone with confidence.
Training will be given on our clinical system (EMIS Web).
