Job Description

We are a busy, friendly rural practice with three sites located in Nidderdale ( Pateley Bridge HG3 5AT, Birstwith HG3 3AJ & Dacre HG3 4DX) looking to recruit one full time dispenser but would possibly consider job share for two candidates.

NVQ 2 in Dispensing / Pharmacy Services is preferable but we will consider non-qualified applications.

Experience in general practice and knowledge of SystmOne is preferable but not essential.

Flexibility to cover colleagues' holiday and sickness is essential.

Own transport essential as the vacancy is across the three sites.



Some morning shifts commence 7.45am and some evening shifts ends at 6.15pm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Take requests for, issue and dispense prescriptions, using Standard Operating Procedures.

Carry out a final check of dispensed medications once authorised to do so.

Hand out prescriptions and collect prescription charges or exemption declarations as appropriate.

Maintain stock levels of drugs, prescriptions and labels from sources indicated by the Dispensary Manager.

Maintain stocks of other stationery required in the dispensary.

Receive drug deliveries and check goods received against invoices and claim credits as required for shortages or errors.

Check that credits requested are received.

Pass all other invoices for any items it is necessary to order from other sources to the accounts department as they are received.

Endorse scripts and ensure all details are completed on the reverse and the declaration signed and dated.

Ensure the Controlled Drug Register is completed and stock level checks are carried out as required by the Practice guidelines.

Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Complies with safeguarding training requirements as set out by employment terms and any relevant professional and national bodies

Takes prompt and timely action when there are any welfare or safeguarding concerns

Forms appropriate relationships with those they care for and maintains professional boundaries in their work.

Works within organisational policies, procedures and guidance.

Is committed to demonstrating the organisations values and behaviours in their work

Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post.

Essential



Good keyboard and computers skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Good numeracy skills

Good communication skills

An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality

Ability to work within a team

Ability to cover for colleague's holidays, study and sick leave
