Job Summary

Trent Valley Surgery is seeking a

part-time, enthusiastic, and qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2/3)

to join our friendly dispensary team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organised, and a strong team player. Previous GP practice experience is desirable but not essential.

About Us

We are a supportive, family-friendly practice with:

A team of 4 dispensers, 3 salaried GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, reception and admin teams A main site in Saxilby and a branch surgery in Torksey serving a largely older population with around 4,000 patients

Main ResponsibilitiesDispensing & Medication Queries

Prepare and dispense acute, repeat and private Handle patient medication queries professionally Check exemptions, collect charges, and maintain accurate records Process returns and assist with medication reviews and alerts

Repeat Prescriptions

Process repeat requests (written and online) Issue and hand out prescriptions Liaise with GPs regarding reviews, medication queries, and safety concerns Update medication records and support formulary adherence

Stock Control

Order, receive, rotate and store stock across both sites Maintain fridge temperature logs Manage returns, expired stock, and invoice processing Ensure controlled drug procedures and records are maintained

General Duties

Keep the dispensary clean, tidy, and secure Cash up and manage payments accurately Attend meetings, complete required training Support audits, data collection and administrative tasks Work in line with DSQS and legal requirements
