About the Role

Ongar Health Centre looking to welcome a qualified dispenser into our busy practice to will play a full and active role as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week, days and hours to be discussed.

The main responsibilities of the role:
Dispensing medicines and collecting prescription charges. Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with the dispensing manager to facilitate reordering. Receiving and storing supplies, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable. Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance with practice policy. Safely disposing of returned and/or out of date medicines. Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 72-hour timeframe. Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters. Always maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or be willing to work towards this. Previous experience of working within a pharmacy or dispensary is desirable but not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Respectful of patient confidentiality. A clear and polite telephone manner.

About Us

We are a large, busy training practice, serving a patient population of 12,700 and operating from purpose built premises.

We use Systmone clinical system and are rated Good with CQC.
