Job summary

We are looking for a qualified dispenser to join the dispensary team in our friendly rural surgery to work for up to 30 hours a week. The successful candidate will hold a Dispensing Assistant qualification from an organisation like Buttercups.

We are a fully dispensing and training practice, covering West Meon and other villages in the Meon valley.

Main duties of the job

Ensure dispensing procedures are carried out adhering to Practice Standard Operating Procedures

Hand out prescriptions and dispensed items and collect payments where appropriate

Deal with queries relating to prescriptions as necessary

Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift as necessary

Undertake DRUMs as required

Respond to requests from Clinical members of the practice during surgery

Ensure drug alerts are dealt with promptly

Overview of your organisation

West Meon Surgery is an integral part of the community. We serve a small patient list size of just over 2,700 patients.

To support our patients, we offer a variety of services and clinics, via our clinical team which consists of a GP Partner supported by a practice nurse and HCA/phlebotomist. We are a training practice and have 2 GP trainees at any one time

The surgery is part of the Winchester Rural North and East PCN which also employs a clinical pharmacist, pharmacy technicians, physiotherapists, social prescribers and care coordinators.

Our dispensary has 3 team members working a mix of part-time hours and a Dispensary Manager.

We are a social bunch with a sense of humour and we share the underpinning value to deliver a professional and safe service to our population of patients.

Pay: 12.75 per hour
