From 1st August 2025, Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative (MBPCC) -- your local not-for-profit GP federation -- will be supporting the Coniston GP surgery for 12 months. To deliver great care, we need great people -- including a new Dispenser / Administrator.
This role combines two vital elements: supporting patients at the reception desk, and preparing/dispensing medication in our small community dispensary. It's ideal for someone who's calm, organised, and enjoys helping others. The surgery is going to be open 5 days a week, with no lone working at any time. Your working hours will be between 08:00 AM -> 18:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
What does the role involve?
You'll work as part of our friendly local team to:
Greet and support patients at reception
Book appointments and manage admin systems
Prepare and dispense medications for patients
Maintain stock, update records, and support the GP team
Provide an efficient, professional front-of-house and dispensary service
Who are we looking for?
You don't need NHS experience -- just:
A warm, professional approach
Strong IT, English, and communication skills
Willingness to learn (dispensing training provided)
Ideally NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing (or willing to work toward it)
Someone who lives in or near Coniston, or wants to work in a meaningful rural role
