Job Description

Wembury Surgery is a friendly, dispensing GP Surgery on the outskirts of Plymouth. We are seeking a professional, caring and efficient individual to join our small dispensary team in the role of Dispenser.

This is a responsible position that requires concentration, multi-tasking and accuracy. You must be able to work and communicate well within a team and be able to prioritise varied and sometimes fast-paced work.

Some flexibility with working days/hours will be required in order to provide cover during periods of leave.

The successful applicant will be required to have NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Assistant qualification
(though we are willing to consider the right trainee for this role who would complete the NVQ level qualification with us).

Experience of working in a dispensary is not essential but a background in a related environment (such as a GP surgery, pharmacy, hospital or other public facing job) would be beneficial.

The role requires competent IT skills, administration / record-keeping and adherence to strict policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Label, dispense and endorse prescriptions in accordance with standard operating procedures Safe supply and appropriate storage of medicines. Medication and stock ordering / management. Maintain medication records in accordance with data protection and confidentiality. Assist with the preparation of monitored dosage systems. Check prescription endorsements and patient declarations. Process invoices and paperwork in a timely manner.
We are looking for 30 to 37 hours per week.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm

Pay: 12.71-13.00 per hour
