Hyde is looking for an experienced and motivated Disrepair Surveyor to join our collaborative, values-driven organisation, where improving homes and protecting residents truly matters.



This is a high-impact role for a surveyor who understands the realities of social housing and wants to play a hands-on role in resolving disrepair cases, reducing risk, and delivering safe, decent homes. You'll be trusted to lead cases end-to-end, work closely with residents and legal partners, and ensure works are delivered to a high standard, first time.


The role





As a Disrepair Surveyor at Hyde, you will take ownership of disrepair cases, providing clear technical direction and driving timely, compliant outcomes. You'll balance technical excellence with a strong customer focus, ensuring customers are kept informed and supported throughout works to their properties.


Key responsibilities include:




Acting as the lead surveyor on disrepair cases, assessing defects, agreeing scopes of work, and maintaining accurate case records Producing technical reports, schedules of work, specifications, costings, and measurements across a wide range of building defects Carrying out property inspections and surveys, updating specifications in line with learning and service improvement Monitoring and supervising contractors to ensure works meet contractual, legal, and quality standards Working closely with residents, legal representatives, expert witnesses, and internal teams to manage risk and deliver fair, timely resolutions

You'll bring:




Experience in surveying within social housing, ideally with exposure to disrepair (training and support available for the right candidate) Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage residents, contractors, and legal stakeholders A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to high-quality housing outcomes The ability to interpret technical information, prepare clear reports, and negotiate effectively
