As part of the Bar team you will deliver a high quality bar experience and support other visitor focused activities at our Distillery, working collaboratively to provide every visitor with an exceptional experience which exceeds their expectations in a welcoming and friendly environment.Who We Are Looking Forxe2x80xa6As a Distillery Ambassador, you will share our passion and enthusiasm for our product, and brand, acting as a true advocate for Edinburgh Gin, with the visitor experience at the heart of all you do.We are looking for an effective communicator with strong customer service skills who is able to engage with visitors, using their bar tending and mixology expertise combined with their professionalism and product knowledge to enhance the visitor experience.Our successful candidate will be a team player, who is also able to use their own initiative and has a positive work attitude. Our Distillery will be open 7 days per week and will include regular weekend and evening work, therefore we are looking for candidates who can be flexible in their approach.Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be 18 or over and also be able to demonstrate that they currently have the required documents to live and work in the UK.Our full job profile can be viewed below.What We Will Provide Youxe2x80xa6This is a permanent job opportunity with an hourly rate of xc2xa312.60. In addition, we offer a generous benefits package including enhanced annual leave, company pension scheme and product discount to name but a few.Our Distillery Ambassador roles are offered on an annualised hours contract meaning you will receive a guaranteed monthly income. There are three teams of Distillery Ambassadors at Edinburgh Gin xe2x80x93 Our Retail & Admissions team, our Visits team, and our Bar team.As part of the Bar team you will deliver a high quality bar experience and support other visitor focused activities at our Distillery, working collaboratively to provide every visitor with an exceptional experience which exceeds their expectations in a welcoming and friendly environment.ROLE DESCRIPTIONResponsibilitiesKey Day to Day ActivitiesBrand Home Operations

  • Deliver smooth operation of the bar, supporting all other visitor activities in line with expected standard of service and time keeping.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to every visitor, tailoring interactions, and anticipating and responding to potential issues as they arise.
  • Ensure the Bar and other visitor facing spaces in the Brand Home are well presented at all times, working as a team to set up and clear down tastings, events and other activities.
  • Follow all hygiene and safety standards as outlined for the bar space.
  • Efficient operation of tills and IT equipment.
  • Anticipate operational issues and bring to attention of supervisors and managers when unable to resolve.
  • Opening up and closing of site areas as required in line with local standard operating procedures.
  • Follow all IMD Policies and administration requirements including Financial, HR, IT, Health and Safety and Data Protection requirements.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner which portrays the high standards of quality and professionalism associated with IMD.
Bar Operations
  • Deliver an exceptional drink and bar experience for all visitors.
  • Prepare drinks and garnishes as required for delivery of experience and event programme.
  • Proactively share product knowledge with visitors through sampling, drink recommendations and stories to help them select the perfect serve for themselves.
  • Maintaining presentation and visual display standards within the bar area.
  • Efficient processing of payments, where applicable.
  • Greeting bar attendees and experience visitors, anticipating their requirements, and adapting to needs to ensure continuity of visit.
  • Maximise personal productivity in quieter periods by addressing jobs such as stock repositioning, cleaning and glass polishing, and stock counts.
  • Follow all IMD bar procedures to ensure correct processing of data, stock records and financial transactions.
Events & other activities
  • Support with the delivery of events at the distillery xe2x80x93 setting up, clearing down and delivering event activities.
  • On occasion, support with off-site events acting as an ambassador for the distillery.
  • Provide support to other departments and IMD activities when required.
