We are seeking a highly organised and motivated

Distribution Shift Manager

to oversee operations within our distribution centre. The Shift Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of warehouse operations. This includes managing staff, overseeing inventory flow, ensuring despatch and delivery times are met, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

What you'll be doing:



Leading, developing, engaging and motivating direct reports so that they deliver or exceed objectives and KPIs, including accuracy targets and future potential is identified and developed in line with business needs. Ensuring DC standards and targets are met. Identifying and delivering continuous improvements initiates and managing any associated changes. On a daily, weekly and periodic basis collate, monitor and analyse KPI and operational data, and make operational adjustments accordingly, in order to achieve overall performance targets and identify improvement opportunities. Communication cascading to colleagues and direct reports. Organise resources (e.g. rotas and holidays), delegate tasks and deal with day-to-day resource issues as necessary (sickness, disciplinary, recruitment etc) to ensure adequate resourcing and performance levels are maintained so the site runs smoothly, and service requirements are met. Working collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and key information to understand the warehouse in its entirety and enhance operational performance and proactively identify and mitigate any current or future potential issues. Ensuring compliance against company, legal and Health and Safety procedures/checks and act on issues as necessary to ensure that any issues are identified, rectified and reported and a safe and legally compliant environment is always operated.

What we are looking for:



Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution centre At least 5 years' experience in a management role and leading larger teams of people, with an understanding of the importance of growing capability to achieve results. Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems and logistics processes. Excellent digital literacy with experience of using warehouse systems. Excellent written skills. A keen team player who is passionate about both people and work-based performance Performance management experience; KPIs, return to work interviews, conducting development/performance reviews Can communicate confidently and effectively across all levels within the organisation Knowledge of relevant legislation - possessing a Health and Safety qualification/certificate Be flexible to work varied shift patterns.
