The Salvation Army is recruiting for a full-time office based

Divisional Secretarial Support

(DSS)

to work at our East Midlands Divisional Headquarters, based in Nottingham.

Job Summary:




To provide a professional, pro-active and confidential secretarial service that supports the Divisional Officers in their roles. The DSS role will also support other DHQ colleagues, regional colleagues and supplement other secretarial support provided to the Divisional Leaders, as needed.


The role will be to provide a professional and proactive support to the Divisional Officers, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to manage priorities that are constantly changing but will respond to requests in a timely and professional manner. You will need to demonstrate confident communication skills along with the flexibility and commitment to changing situations.

The successful candidate(s) will have:



Previous experience of working successfully in a similar secretarial role within a busy and varied work environment Excellent experience and knowledge of specific secretarial duties including drafting documents, diary management, organising meetings, booking travel, managing expenses and servicing board meetings (including minute taking) The ability to handle sensitive information appropriately maintaining confidentiality and discretion as required Strong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to develop strong, successful, and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrable ability to plan, organise and prioritise your tasks to effectively meet your objectives to the expected quality standards and time scales with minimal supervision The ability to contribute to the continuous development and improvement of operational processes and procedures Proven strong experience of using IT software such as Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Outlook and Teams to enhance and improve the delivery of your duties NVQ Level 2/5 GCSE A-C or equivalent relevant experience
