DLF Driver

TR Fastenings (TR) is part of Trifast plc and is a leading international specialist in the design, engineering, manufacture, and distribution of high-quality industrial fastenings and Category 'C' components principally to major global assembly industries. We are looking to recruit 2x DLF Drivers on a permanent basis to join our logistics team based at our site in the North East (Industrial Estate, DL5 6BG).

The Role

Reporting to the local Customer Logistics Team Leader, your role will be to contribute to the effective and efficient smooth running of the Direct Line Feed (DLF) operation and to ensure the delivery of a cost-effective service for both internal and external customers is achieved.

To confirm, the role involves driving a transit (or similar) van to deliver goods to various locations. You'll need to comply with traffic laws, ensure the vehicle is safe and well-maintained.

The job requires exceptional communication, reliability, attention to detail and competent driving skills as well as a team focus and mentality.

Key tasks include:

Prepare your vehicle, complete safety checks and load the vehicle so shipments are secure and safe. Unload the van of returned totes and packaging, then complete post use vehicle checks. Ensure efficient and accurate deliveries of DLF customer orders, be it to goods in or working on-site at our customers. Ensure TRs customer solutions are properly maintained to the Customers` and our agreed standards -we take pride in our systems and how they represent our business Effective monitoring and management of stock at customer premises, ensuring FIFO (First in First Out) is adhered to. Report any issues with the Kanban systems to the nominated person. Comply with all Health & Safety Requirements - internally, externally (on customer sites) as well as driving rules and standards. Support the business as required with DLF system upgrades, new business implementations and operational work.

The Candidate

We are seeking a service-driven individual with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, capable of working effectively with others and maintaining clear, professional interactions. Experience with Microsoft Outlook is required, and familiarity with D365 is an advantage, though training will be provided as needed.

The successful candidate will be physically capable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines. A strong work ethic, the ability to manage tasks efficiently, and a team-oriented mindset are key components of this role.
