As Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy in planned care, you will be responsible for the operational and professional leadership of the Occupational therapists within our neighbourhood mental health teams and our forensic community team.
These teams provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment in our community settings across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The role is also key in supporting our transformation and development of services across planned care considering areas where having occupational therapy could make a difference and working with the Lead Allied Health Professional to develop proposals and workforce plans to enhance the occupational therapy offer.

Health and Wellbeing Support
The role will include direct line management of a group of Occupational Therapy leads. You will have authority and oversight for recruitment, appraisals, training and performance management.
As part of the role you will identify clinical priorities at both operational and strategic level for occupational therapy ensuring the highest standards of clinicial and professional practice through professional leadership, clinical supervision, mentorship and practice development.
You will lead the development of Occupational Therapy across the Directorate of mental health to enable continuous quality improvement in service provision
You will undertake indirect and if required direct clinical work at a high level of expertise in complex situations.
You will be responsible for the management of staff and be a budget holder for a number of cost centres
