has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance.

We are currently recruiting for a DNA Sampling Technician to come and join our busy Technical Team here at Kepak Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday from 6.30am up to 48 hours per week.

Requirements

Job Role:

As a DNA Sampling Technician you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and quality of DNA samples and their associated area.

Role Key Accountabilities Added Value

Quality Control Management:

Develop and implement quality control procedures for DNA sequencing processes, including sample preparation, sequencing, and data analysis.

Data Analysis:

Review and analyse DNA sequencing data to identify anomalies, errors, and inconsistencies, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

This is a fast paced role and requires a person with a 'can do' approach and a mindset for compliance, operating with a 'Quality 1st' ethos.

Skills and Experience

Food Safety Level 2 is essential

- level 3 desirable.


Experience having worked in food safety or quality is desirable.


Keen eye for detail.


Good communication skills.


Computer literacy is a necessity.


Good standard of written and verbal English.
