Would you like to be a school bus driver? For dogs?! We are looking for an experienced, responsible, organised, safe and professional, animal loving person to drive our VIP clients from their homes to daycare and back.
You will become part of a supportive and sociable team who prides themselves on high levels of dog welfare and customer care.
Using our state of the art doggy bus, we expect efficiency and compassionate and safe handling of our dogs, to make it a smooth journey to daycare. You will have a personal app with all our client information, get to meet some wonderful dogs and start your day with some good company! A strong knowledge of the local area is useful and comfortable and confident driving around the city.
Key Responsibilities:
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Services:
Safely transport dogs between their homes and the daycare facility, following designated routes and schedules.
Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:
Ensure that the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and safe for transporting dogs. Regularly check the condition of the van (tires, oil, brakes, etc.) and schedule routine maintenance as needed.
Dog Handling:
Safely load and unload dogs from homes and the daycare centre. Use proper handling techniques to ensure the comfort and safety of the dogs during transportation.
Safety and Comfort:
Monitor the dogs during transportation to ensure they are comfortable and secure in the vehicle. Follow all safety protocols to avoid injury to the dogs or damage to the vehicle.
Customer Service:
Communicate courteously with pet owners during pick-up and drop-off, providing updates or answering any questions about the transportation process.
Record Keeping:
Keep accurate logs of pick-up and drop-off times, locations, and any relevant information about each dog's behaviour during transport.
Adherence to Schedules:
Manage time effectively to ensure dogs are picked up and dropped off according to the daycare's schedule. Flexibility in adjusting routes when needed.
Hours:
Daily shifts are Monday to Friday 7:30am - 9am and 4:30pm - 6:30pm please note you must be flexible either side of these times.

Job Requirements:
Aged over 25
Full Manual UK Driver's Licence:
Clean driving driver's licence. Experience driving a van or similar vehicle is preferred.
Current DBS or willingness to apply for one
Good knowledge of driving in Norwich area
Experience with Animals:
Previous experience handling dogs in a professional setting (e.g. kennel, daycare, police, vet clinic) is highly desirable. Must be comfortable with dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift, carry, and control dogs safely. Some dogs may weigh 40kg or more.
Strong Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with both pet owners and colleagues.
Attention to Detail:
Strong focus on safety and the ability to observe dogs for signs of stress, discomfort, or health issues during transportation.
Time Management Skills:
Punctual and organised, with the ability to maintain a schedule and adapt to changes in routes.
Customer-Friendly:
Friendly and professional attitude when interacting with clients and their dogs. Patience and empathy when addressing the needs of both.
Passion for Animals:
A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to ensuring their safety and well-being.
First Aid Certification (Preferred):
Knowledge of basic pet first aid or willingness to undergo training is a plus.
