Role: Domestic Abuse Support Officer

Contract Type: Fixed term/secondment opportunity for 1 year

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:50pm

Worker Type: Hybrid - a mixture of office and home working is to be expected

Salary: Grade H - 40,777 - 44,075 per annum

Location: City Wide

About the Role



We are seeking a compassionate and proactive

Domestic Abuse Support Officer

to help shape and deliver a person-centred, informed response to domestic abuse across our housing services. This vital role supports tenants, leaseholders, and colleagues by embedding best practices, policies, and procedures that promote safety, dignity, and empowerment.

You will work closely with housing teams, specialist partners, and community stakeholders to ensure our services meet high standards and align with statutory requirements. A key part of the role involves supporting the implementation of the

Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) Accreditation

and continuous improvement framework, helping to drive service development and cultural change.

Your responsibilities will include advising on case management, coordinating with expert external partners, delivering training, and promoting awareness of domestic abuse across diverse communities. You'll also support staff wellbeing, oversee Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions, and contribute to safeguarding and equality initiatives.

About You



The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge and understanding of the legal and statutory frameworks relating to housing management. A sound understanding of safeguarding adults and children, as well as trauma-informed practice. A sound understanding of the practical, emotional, social and economic issues facing adults and children affected by domestic violence. Experience in designing and delivering engaging training and briefings for diverse audiences. Resilient and able to manage highly emotive situations. Empathetic and non-judgmental, with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
