20 hours per week (3 shifts per week, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM on a 3-week rolling rota and 1 in 3 weekends)

, where your attention to detail and pride in your work helps ensure residents live in a clean, safe, and dignified environment. We're looking for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our home combining laundry and housekeeping duties that truly make a difference.

Danygraig Care Home

provides high-quality care for adults living with mental health conditions, including dementia. Located in Porthcawl, the home consists of 48 bedrooms across four units three for female residents and one for male residents. Alongside long-term placements, we also provide respite care. Danygraig maintains a strong open-door ethos, creating a warm and inclusive environment for residents, families, and staff alike.

Your Role

As a Domestic, you'll play a key role in keeping the home running smoothly. From ensuring clothing and linens are fresh and organised, to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in residents' rooms and communal areas, your work helps everyone feel at home.

Key Responsibilities

Wash, dry, iron, and return residents' clothing and bed linen Iron and store staff uniforms neatly Ensure clothing is returned and put away in residents' wardrobes and drawers Clean residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces to a high standard Maintain stock levels in laundry cupboards across each unit Follow infection control, health and safety, and COSHH procedures Respect the privacy, dignity, and personal space of all residents Support the wider domestic team as needed

What We're Looking For

Good communication skills and a helpful attitude Able to work independently or as part of a team Flexible and reliable willing to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota A caring and respectful approach when working in a care setting Previous experience preferred in a similar role but not essential - full training provided
