We are seeking a versatile and skilled Domestic Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing domestic gas boilers for our large customer base.
Our work is 95% private domestic clients, the main duties of this position will be the annual servicing of domestic gas boilers - ensuring compliance with manufacturers guarantee periods.
The larger portion of our service work is on our own installs, mainly Worcester 8000s. We have multiple engineers for installations, you may be required for some lighter duties on occasional installation work but that is not the primary focus of this position.
You will play a vital part in delivering high-quality service across multiple projects, contributing to the efficient operation of our family run business.
We're passionate about high standards, as such we use up to date job management software - allowing ease of process for staff and customers.
I have opened up this role as potentially part time, given its nature it may suit an engineer wanting to move from 5 days a week to 3/4 - for the right candidate we will be flexible.
Duties
Conduct Domestic gas boiler service, repair and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
Handle small plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, installing fixtures, and maintaining water systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Assist with general cleaning, organisation of work areas, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Collaborate with clients or team members to assess project requirements and deliver timely solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in gas appliance maintenance, plumbing and Heating systems.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques.
Mechanical knowledge relevant to residential property upkeep.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations during repairs or installations.
Experience with commercial driving is desirable but not essential.
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments.
