As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality gas servicing, maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and installation works within occupied and void domestic properties. You will play a key role in providing an unrivalled service delivery to our customers, focusing on safety, first-time-fix, customer satisfaction, and right-first-time quality, while working to agreed programmes, service level requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:
Service Delivery (Reactive, PPM and Minor installation Works):
Complete gas servicing, maintenance, and repair works on domestic heating and hot water systems in line with contract requirements and manufacturer guidance.
Undertake fault diagnosis and rectification to maximise first-time-fix and reduce repeat visits.
Carry out PPM and safety inspection tasks in accordance with schedule, ensuring accurate completion and evidence capture.
Complete quality repairs to a 'right-first-time' standard, leaving the property safe, tidy, and in good order at completion.
Installations and Planned Programmes:
Support planned replacement programmes (e.g., boiler and cylinder replacements, system upgrades) in line with agreed programme targets.
Install, commission, and test appliances/systems in accordance with Gas Safe requirements, relevant standards, and manufacturer instructions.
Identify additional works required and raise recommendations promptly through the correct process.
Safety, Compliance and Quality:
Work safely at all times and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental (SH&E) requirements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work (SSoW).
Maintain Gas Safe compliance and complete all required checks, tests, and certifications (including gas tightness and combustion analysis where required).
Complete all documentation accurately (digital or paper), including job notes, compliance records, parts usage, photos, and certification.
Participate in quality audits, inspections, and rectification of snagging works where required.
Customer Service and Professional Standards:
Deliver a professional, respectful service within occupied homes, maintaining safeguarding, privacy, and customer care standards.
Communicate clearly with customers on the work required, expected timescales, and any access or safety requirements.
Act as an ambassador for the business, promoting positive customer experiences and supporting contract reputation.
Use of Systems and Technology (including TechSee):
Use job management systems to receive, update, and close jobs in real time, ensuring accurate status updates and clear audit trails.
Make effective use of remote support tools (e.g., TechSee) for diagnostics, evidence capture, and reducing unnecessary repeat visits.
Report system or device issues promptly and follow process to ensure continued adoption and compliance.
Teamwork, Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
Work collaboratively with schedulers, supervisors, technical support, and contract management to deliver daily performance targets.
Support continuous improvement by highlighting recurring faults, common parts issues, and opportunities to reduce repeat jobs.
Participate in toolbox talks, briefings, training, and 1-2-1 discussions; contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in domestic gas servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet performance targets and appointment times.
Good communication skills and professional conduct within occupied homes.
Comfortable using handheld devices / apps and digital job management systems.
Relevant technical qualifications and industry certifications (minimum):
CCN1: Core Domestic Gas Safety
CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
CKR1: Domestic Cookers (where required by contract)
HTR1: Gas Fires and Wall Heaters (where required by contract)
UHW10 / G3 Unvented Hot Water Systems (desirable; essential for roles undertaking unvented cylinder work)
Other Requirements:
Full, clean UK driving licence.
Willingness to participate in on-call / standby arrangements where applicable.
Maintain tools, test equipment and calibration (e.g., Flue Gas Analyser) in-date and fit for purpose.
Flexibility to work across contract areas as required.

Appendix A - Shift Pattern - Hewer Engineers - Vivo Contract
Shift Pattern 1 - Standard Day Shift (SP1)
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Details: This is a regular daytime working pattern with no out-of-hours duties.
Shift Pattern 2 - Day Shift with Evening and Weekend Out of Hours (OOH) Cover (SP2)
Days: Monday to Friday (standard hours).
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Additional Duties:
Out of Hours (OOH): 24/7
Every weekday evening & all weekend (Pinnacle calls)
Weekend Working: Saturday and Sunday to ensure KPI's are met (Hewer Vivo Schedulers and Pinnacle Calls)
Details: This pattern includes full weekday coverage plus out-of-hours duties and weekend working.
Shift Pattern 3 - Transition Week after Pattern 2 (SP3)
Days: 3 Days (Typically Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday).
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm
Details: This pattern always follows a Shift Pattern 2 week. The set 3 working days can be adjusted with prior agreement from the line manager if the preceding Shift Pattern 2 week was particularly demanding.
Shift Pattern 4 - Late Shift (SP4)
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 12:00pm to 8:00pm
Details: This pattern provides late-day coverage and does not include weekend or out of hours duties
Minimum expectation of monthly shift pattern
The rotation of the shift patterns is designed to ensure that essential services, including late shifts and out of hours duties, are consistently maintained. However, actual shift allocations may vary depending on staffing levels, annual leave, sickness absence, and other operational factors. As such, the frequency of Shift Pattern 2 (Day shift with evening and weekend out of hours cover) and Shift Pattern 3 (Late shift) may be lower in practice shown in the example Rota.
