As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to individuals in both care home and home care settings. Your primary focus will be to support residents or clients with their daily activities, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This position requires a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow care plans effectively.
Responsibilities
Assist residents or clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals with mobility and physical activities as needed.
Help with meal preparation and feeding when required.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Follow individual care plans to ensure personalised support is delivered effectively.
Engage residents or clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents or clients.
Drive to various locations if required for home care visits.
Skills
Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
Strong IT skills for maintaining records and using electronic care management systems.
Excellent communication skills to build rapport with residents or clients and their families.
Experience in a care home setting is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
