We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistants to provide high-quality in-home care to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within their homes and communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, disability support, or home health services, along with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on clients' lives.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations
Monitor patient vital signs and observe health status, reporting any concerns promptly
Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while adhering to dietary restrictions
Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe patient transfers and mobility assistance
Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and adherence to care plans
Engage in patient monitoring to identify changes in condition or behavior, especially for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Ensure a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks and infection control practices
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures when necessary
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each resident's needs
Experience
Prior experience in assisted living, long-term care, home & community care, or nursing home settings is highly desirable
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or memory care needs is preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards is essential
Proven ability to perform patient observation and monitoring in a compassionate manner
Hands-on experience with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and use of mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts is advantageous
Background in caregiving roles involving Alzheimer's care or hospice care will be considered a plus
Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills with team members and clients alike
