We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves delivering personalised care to enhance the wellbeing and independence of clients, with a focus on dignity and respect. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and have experience or interest in senior care, dementia care, and hospice support.
Duties
Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Providing medication administration in accordance with prescribed schedules
Supporting patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
Managing behaviour effectively, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Assisting with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
Driving clients to appointments or social activities when required
Responding promptly to emergency situations with first aid if necessary
Supporting families through compassionate caregiving and communication about care plans
Experience
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is advantageous
Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
Experience with medication administration and basic first aid procedures
Familiarity with behaviour management techniques for individuals with cognitive impairments
Childcare experience is considered a plus for roles involving family support or younger clients
Valid driving licence is desirable for roles requiring client transportation
Training or certification in caregiving, first aid, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided where necessary
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A commitment to providing respectful and person-centred care is essential for success in this role.
