Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, and private homes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia.

Duties

Deliver personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility assistance. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Assist with behaviour management and engage clients in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities. Conduct light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment. Document care provided and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while providing care. Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, or home care is preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable. Certification in first aid is an advantage. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility or transfers. A valid driving licence is required for this role. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. A caring attitude towards others and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by client needs.
