Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, particularly for those with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other age-related conditions.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring client safety at all times. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with special needs or challenging behaviours. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport. Support clients in engaging in recreational activities that promote physical and mental well-being.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in senior care, hospice care, or home care settings. Knowledge of first aid and basic life support is essential. Experience working with individuals suffering from Alzheimer's disease or dementia is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the needs of the client. A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
