We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team, providing essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with individuals suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health status.
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties.
Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
Qualifications
Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred, particularly in assisted living or nursing home environments.
Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is highly desirable.
Certification in first aid and CPR is an advantage.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of clients.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
