Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, hospice care, and behaviour management, with the ability to deliver high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of each client. This role involves working closely with clients to enhance their quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving to appointments if required. Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any significant changes in client health or behaviour to nursing staff. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being. Ensure a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols. Provide first aid as necessary in emergency situations.

Requirements

Previous experience in senior care or hospice care is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage. Ability to drive and hold a valid driver's licence is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families. Proficiency in medication administration and meal preparation techniques. Certification in first aid is beneficial but not mandatory; training can be provided. A caring attitude with a commitment to improving the lives of those you serve. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
