We are looking for drivers and walkers in Birtley, Gateshead, Newcastle and Hebburn
Duties
Deliver high-quality patient care to residents in assisted living and nursing home environments.
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Support individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments through behaviour management techniques.
Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living space for clients.
Engage in heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members.
Essential Requirements
Must have valid documentation (e.g., UK passport, settled status, visa with work rights)
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support others.
Ability to speak and understand English clearly to communicate with clients and record care notes accurately
Dependability is crucial in home care where clients rely on timely support
A criminal background will be undertaken
Mobile phone (for digital rota or logging in/out)
Reference Checks (2 recent professional references)
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices
Desirable:
Previous Care Experience
Experience in care settings (residential, home care, hospital) is valued
Health and Social Care Qualification
NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is advantageous but full training will be provided
Flexible Availability
Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and possibly split shifts.
Medication Administration Training
Ability to assist or administer medication (training provided).
Basic Literacy and Numeracy
To read care plans, complete records, and understand client instructions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.22-12.60 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
