Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of care. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialised care such as Alzheimer's or dementia support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any significant changes to healthcare professionals. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life. Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours. Perform light housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a safe environment for clients. Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required.

Experience

Candidates should ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Assisted living or nursing home experience. Patient care within hospice or senior care environments. Alzheimer's or dementia care expertise. Home care experience with a focus on caregiving. Additional skills that would be beneficial include: First aid certification. Experience with heavy lifting when assisting clients. Background in childcare may also be advantageous.
