Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our domiciliary care team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for those we support, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care to individuals in need, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor for any side effects or changes in condition. Support individuals with dementia care by employing behaviour management techniques tailored to their needs. Engage with clients to encourage social interaction and participation in activities. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.

Experience

Previous experience in patient care, nursing homes, senior care, or childcare is highly desirable. Familiarity with medication administration and dementia care techniques is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. A patient and empathetic approach to care, coupled with excellent communication skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour.
