Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to provide high-quality support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary. Engage in behaviour management techniques to promote positive interactions. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Document care provided and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or manager. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care, hospice care, or nursing home experience is preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques is advantageous. Certification in first aid is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
